The classic mesh feels light and smooth between your fingers, with enough body to hold its form along the wood. We weave this polyester cloth with an open grid that lets daylight into the crib. Two panels wrap the slats, finished along the top and bottom with matching solid trim.

Our classic weave

We make this panel from our classic polyester mesh. The yarn forms an open grid across the surface. It stays taut between the slats and keeps its shape after months on the frame.

Lower trim placement

Push the bottom edge down between the mattress and the slatted sides. The trim sits below the top of the mattress, pulling the mesh flat against the vertical rails so the panels stay neat.

Lavender solid colorway

The solid lavender fabric reads soft and clear from across the nursery. We dye the mesh and the matching edge trim to the same tone, giving the slatted rails a quiet, finished look.

How it washes

Close the hook and loop fasteners before placing the panels in the washing machine. The polyester fabric dries quickly and goes straight back onto the crib rails without losing its tension.

Not a crib bumper under federal law

When Congress banned padded crib bumpers, the definition CPSC wrote does not include a non-padded mesh crib liner. Our panels sit outside that ban.

No recall of the mesh panels

The mesh liners have never been recalled. One product was, in 2013: a wearable blanket we stopped making that year.

What the guidance says, in full

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a bare crib: a firm flat mattress, a fitted sheet, and nothing else in it. That recommendation does not carve out mesh liners. Federal law and pediatric guidance say different things here, and we would rather you read both than hear only the half that suits us.

Fitting it, in order

Face the side with the larger holes into the crib, so the finer surface sits outward.
Run the panel along the inside of the rails and wrap the last slat at each end.
Point the ties upward and fasten them on the outside of the frame, never inside.
Set the bottom edge about an inch below the top of the mattress, then pull every tie snug.

Keep it tight against the crib side. Do not use it if it hangs loose or sags toward the mattress. Position the ties on the outside of the crib and pull them snug. Never put pillows or anything else in the crib alongside it. Never use it in a toddler bed or bassinet.

When to take it out

Take the panel out of the crib once your baby can pull up to standing against the crib side, which starts at around six months. An older baby can use it to climb.

Is this a padded bumper?

No. It is a non-padded mesh panel. The Safe Sleep for Babies Act was signed in May 2022, and the ban on padded crib bumpers took effect that November. It reaches padded bumpers, vinyl guards and vertical slat covers. The definition CPSC wrote for it does not include a non-padded mesh crib liner.
