This liner pairs our most open Deluxe mesh with a gathered cotton ruffle along the upper edge. The two panels wrap the interior of full-size cribs with slatted sides or solid back walls. Hook and loop closures keep the fabric taut around the corner posts and outer slats.

Our Deluxe weave

The single-layer Deluxe mesh uses our most open weave, bordered by a pale pink cotton ruffle at the top and plain binding at the base. Daylight moves through the body of the cloth while the panels cover the interior slats.

Position along the mattress

Pull the bottom edge down below the top surface of the mattress so the panels rest flat against the lower rail. The fabric stays smooth against the slats once the corners wrap and tension is set.

Our hook and loop fastening

Fabric straps wrap the corner posts and fasten with hook and loop strips on the outside of the crib. The panels adjust along the rails to fit four-sided slatted models as well as solid-back frames.

Care and reassembly

The panels go into the washing machine when needed. Press the hook and loop strips together before laundering so the fasteners stay clear, then refit the long and short sections around the slats once dry.

Standards, and what the law covers

Tested to ASTM F1917

The panels are tested to the ASTM standard for infant bedding and related accessories.

Air permeability under ASTM D737

The mesh is measured by the textile industry method for how readily air passes through a fabric.

Not a crib bumper under federal law

When Congress banned padded crib bumpers, the definition CPSC wrote does not include a non-padded mesh crib liner. Our panels sit outside that ban.

No recall of the mesh panels

The mesh liners have never been recalled. One product was, in 2013: a wearable blanket we stopped making that year.

What the guidance says, in full

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a bare crib: a firm flat mattress, a fitted sheet, and nothing else in it. That recommendation does not carve out mesh liners. Federal law and pediatric guidance say different things here, and we would rather you read both than hear only the half that suits us.

Fitting it, in order

  1. Face the side with the larger holes into the crib, so the finer surface sits outward.
  2. Run the panel along the inside of the rails and wrap the last slat at each end.
  3. Point the ties upward and fasten them on the outside of the frame, never inside.
  4. Set the bottom edge about an inch below the top of the mattress, then pull every tie snug.

Keep it tight against the crib side. Do not use it if it hangs loose or sags toward the mattress. Position the ties on the outside of the crib and pull them snug. Never put pillows or anything else in the crib alongside it. Never use it in a toddler bed or bassinet.

When to take it out

Take the panel out of the crib once your baby can pull up to standing against the crib side, which starts at around six months. An older baby can use it to climb.

It is our Deluxe weave at 4mm, which holds back 80% of the daylight. The other weaves in the catalog are AirflowBaby at 2mm and 60%, Classic at 3mm and 85%.
