Across the nursery, the pale blush color sits quietly along the top edge of the crib. We make this pair of short panels to wrap the side rails, using our Classic weave bound in smooth polyester trim. Adjustable straps and hook and loop fasteners close the fabric neatly over slatted or solid wood ends.

Light pink colorway

The pale blush tone sits softly against white paint or natural wood finishes. It reads as a quiet, warm neutral across the room, keeping the focus on the lines of the crib rather than loud contrast.

Classic mesh weave

We use a single layer of our Classic weave across each panel. The knit stays open across the surface of the rail, letting daylight through while covering the bare wood from end to end.

Strap and rail fastening

Hook and loop strips run the length of the fabric to wrap over the top rail. Adjustable straps loop down to hold each short panel flat against cribs with open slats or solid end boards.

Machine wash care

Toss the panels in the washing machine when they need cleaning. Fasten the hook and loop tabs together before washing so the rough edges do not catch on the mesh or pull the binding.

Standards, and what the law covers

Tested to ASTM F1917

The panels are tested to the ASTM standard for infant bedding and related accessories.

Air permeability under ASTM D737

The mesh is measured by the textile industry method for how readily air passes through a fabric.

Not a crib bumper under federal law

When Congress banned padded crib bumpers, the definition CPSC wrote does not include a non-padded mesh crib liner. Our panels sit outside that ban.

No recall of the mesh panels

The mesh liners have never been recalled. One product was, in 2013: a wearable blanket we stopped making that year.

What the guidance says, in full

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a bare crib: a firm flat mattress, a fitted sheet, and nothing else in it. That recommendation does not carve out mesh liners. Federal law and pediatric guidance say different things here, and we would rather you read both than hear only the half that suits us.

Fitting it, in order

  1. Face the side with the larger holes into the crib, so the finer surface sits outward.
  2. Run the panel along the inside of the rails and wrap the last slat at each end.
  3. Point the ties upward and fasten them on the outside of the frame, never inside.
  4. Set the bottom edge about an inch below the top of the mattress, then pull every tie snug.

Keep it tight against the crib side. Do not use it if it hangs loose or sags toward the mattress. Position the ties on the outside of the crib and pull them snug. Never put pillows or anything else in the crib alongside it. Never use it in a toddler bed or bassinet.

When to take it out

Take the panel out of the crib once your baby can pull up to standing against the crib side, which starts at around six months. An older baby can use it to climb.
