Seaglass green brings a quiet, pale wash of color to the crib slats. We weave this in our Deluxe mesh, the most open of our three patterns, and finish both the upper and lower edges with solid binding. The fabric threads between the rails and joins with hook and loop fasteners.

Two separate panels

A long panel wraps three sides of the crib, while a shorter panel covers the remaining rail. Use both panels together on slatted cribs, or fit only the long panel when dressing three sides.

The lower edge position

The lower trim pushes down between the mattress and the crib slats. When the mattress rests in place, the bottom edge stays tucked down while the mesh pulls flat against the inner face of the rails.

Trim along the rails

Solid woven fabric binds the top and bottom borders of each panel. This outer trim gives the open Deluxe mesh a firm edge to pull against when tightening the hook and loop fasteners around the corner posts.

Machine wash and care

The panels go into the washing machine when needed. Press the hook and loop strips together before washing so they do not catch on the open mesh, then thread the panels back along the rails once dry.

Standards, and what the law covers

Tested to ASTM F1917

The panels are tested to the ASTM standard for infant bedding and related accessories.

Air permeability under ASTM D737

The mesh is measured by the textile industry method for how readily air passes through a fabric.

Not a crib bumper under federal law

When Congress banned padded crib bumpers, the definition CPSC wrote does not include a non-padded mesh crib liner. Our panels sit outside that ban.

No recall of the mesh panels

The mesh liners have never been recalled. One product was, in 2013: a wearable blanket we stopped making that year.

What the guidance says, in full

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a bare crib: a firm flat mattress, a fitted sheet, and nothing else in it. That recommendation does not carve out mesh liners. Federal law and pediatric guidance say different things here, and we would rather you read both than hear only the half that suits us.

Fitting it, in order

  1. Face the side with the larger holes into the crib, so the finer surface sits outward.
  2. Run the panel along the inside of the rails and wrap the last slat at each end.
  3. Point the ties upward and fasten them on the outside of the frame, never inside.
  4. Set the bottom edge about an inch below the top of the mattress, then pull every tie snug.

Keep it tight against the crib side. Do not use it if it hangs loose or sags toward the mattress. Position the ties on the outside of the crib and pull them snug. Never put pillows or anything else in the crib alongside it. Never use it in a toddler bed or bassinet.

When to take it out

Take the panel out of the crib once your baby can pull up to standing against the crib side, which starts at around six months. An older baby can use it to climb.
