Which weave, and what it holds back

The three gauges

The number is the size of the hole in the weave, and it runs the way you would expect: the smaller the hole, the less you see through and the more of the daylight stops at the panel. Ours measure AirflowBaby at 2mm, holding back 60%; Classic at 3mm, holding back 85%; Deluxe at 4mm, holding back 80%.

Every one of them is measured the same way, by the textile industry method for how readily air passes through a fabric. That is the only comparison between them worth making, and it is the only one we make.

A bright room and an early nap

If the crib sits under a window and the nap is at two in the afternoon, the finer weave is doing something you will actually notice. If the room is already dim, it is doing very little, and the more open weave is easier to see the baby through from the doorway.

What the gauge does not change

It does not change how the panel fits, which is set by the frame and not the fabric. It does not change when the panel has to come out. And it does not make one of them a different kind of product from the others: they are the same panel, woven at three densities.
